My Story

As Make-A-Wish Australia's newest ambassador, I’m really excited tell you about an ambitious goal I have to raise vital funds for this amazing children's charity.

In 2009, after the death of a close friend, I decided to reassess my priorities and work out what was really important to me. During this process, I came up with list of 100 things I wanted to achieve in life.

Through my website, 100things.com.au, I share my journey in the hope that I can inspire everyone to make the most of what life has to offer.

My list of 100 things is long and varied, and includes some wonderful, ridiculous, heart-warming, serious and exciting challenges. I’ve already crossed off marrying a stranger in Las Vegas, delivering a baby, and I’ve even acted in a Bollywood movie.

In a fantastic development though, I now find myself travelling the world helping people achieve their dreams. It's because of our shared values of helping others that I'm so proud to be an ambassador for Make-A-Wish Australia.

Next on my list is to raise $100,000 for Make-A-Wish, and I need your help.

World Wish Day, Wednesday 29 April, will be my first opportunity to embark on this $100k fundraising goal. This day celebrates the day Make-A-Wish granted its very first wish to a seriously ill child, back in 1980.

Today, as the largest wish-granting organisation in the world, Make-A-Wish grants a wish somewhere in the world every 22 minutes!

Inspired by little Rory, 6, diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, and his wish to “ride scary rides with dad”, I’ve been challenged by Make-A-Wish to jump on some of Movie World’s scariest rides on World Wish Day and celebrate the hope, strength and joy a wish can bring…and I’ll be doing this every 22 minutes!

If that wasn’t exciting enough, I’m going to complete a number of dares on the day, and I need your suggestions. They can be weird, embarrassing, silly, scary or just plain outrageous – the more creative the better!

Help me support Make-A-Wish in three easy steps:
1. Donate now to help me reach my goal of $100,000
2. Leave a dare for me to complete at Movie World in your comments
3. Spread the word and follow the events of the day on https://instagram.com/makeawishaust/

Thank You
